Srinagar: At least nine Government Forces personnel were injured in a militant attack in Tral township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Reports said that the militants opened fire and lobbed a grenade at a joint party of police and the CRPF near Court road Tral, resulting into injuries to nine personnel.
A police official said that militants fired upon the security forces when they were handling law and order on Tral road.
“Militants lobbed a grenade followed by firing on the security forces from a crowd when they were busy with law and order duties on Tral road resulting in injuries to the nine security forces personnel.”
“Security force personnel exercised maximum restraint after being attacked by terrorists to prevent any civilian casualties,” the official said adding that the injured security force personnel were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment.
