MP Nazir Laway chairs DISHA meeting at Kulgam

Kulgam: Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmad Laway Thursday chaired a meeting of   District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee under (DISHA) at mini- secretariat Kulgam to review progress achieved under different centrally sponsored schemes in the district.

DDC Kulgam Sajad Hussain, ADDC, CPO, ACD, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, PMGSY, CAO, CEO and other district officers of various departments attended the meeting.

During the meeting, a detailed power point presentation was projected to brief the Co-Chairman about the physical and financial progress of various centrally sponsored Schemes presently executed by various departments in the district.

The DDC gave a detailed account of the progress achieved, so far, under flagship programrs like MGNREGA, SBM, DDUS, IPDR, PMGSY, NRWD and Pradhan Mantri Ujawal Yojana, PMAY, SSA, NRLM.

The meeting was briefed that under MGNREGA, 48881 job cards have been issued by RDD in the district and 1254000 work days have been generated in the year 2017-2018.

The Co-Chairman was also briefed that to upgrade the existing livelihood of women under UMEED scheme of NRLM 428 self-help groups have been created and 341 have been given revolving fund (RF)  amounting to 15 thousand per group to start up their venture.

It was also given in the meeting that under SSA various schools buildings targeted in last financial year had been completed and most of these schools possess toilets and drinking water facility. The meeting was also informed that school dropout rate has been reduced to 23% from existing 39% earlier in the district.

On the occasion, the Co-chairperson directed the officers to implement all the schemes in letter and spirit so that their benefits reach to the grassroots level.

He also urged the officers to organise awareness programs in the district to acknowledge people about various schemes meant for them so they can avail benefits of these schemes.
