Srinagar: The All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association called off their about two month long strike with immediate effect, an official spokesman said here on Thursday afternoon.
He said a delegation of All J&K Patwar Association today called on Financial Commissioner Revenue and reiterated their demands.
They discussed various issues pertaining to Patwaries across the State, he said.
Financial Commissioner Revenue assured them that their genuine demands shall be considered sympathetically in due course by the State Government.
Later the patwar Association agreed to call off their strike with immediate effect, he said.
The patwar association among other things are demanding grade pay of patwaris, creation of patwar halqas, ban on direct recruitment of naib tehsildar, enhancement of allowances, and rent for patwar khanas (private accommodation).
