Srinagar/June,20: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect, reported ANI Wednesday morning. The president approved the governor’s recommendation hours after receiving it. With the President’s directive, the reins of Jammu and Kashmir are now in the hands of Governor N N Vohra who will be running the affairs of the Jammu & Kashmir Government for the fourth time now. Interestingly Governor N N Vohra is completing 10 years as J&K Governor on June 25. The responsibility of running the strife-torn state comes at a time when the BJP parted ways with the PDP citing the critical security situation in the Valley.

After BJP’s announcement of exiting the alliance, Vohra spoke to BJP’s Kavinder Gupta and PDP chief and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to find out if they intended to explore alternative alliances to form government in the state, but got a negative response. development came a day after the BJP announced its decision to pull out of the alliance with Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP in the state. With the President’s directive, the reins of Jammu and Kashmir are now back in the hands of Governor NN Vohra who will be running the state for the fourth time now, and will be completing 10 years as J&K Governor on June 25.
