Ceasefire was drama, aimed to achieve covert targets: LeT

Srinagar: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah while reacting to the government of India’s end to ceasefire said the “unmatched sacrifices” of Hurriyat leadership and people have defeated New Delhi’s “vicious plans”.
LeT spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying that the funeral prayers of martyrs and Eid prayers were offered together. This is a response to India’s ceasefire drama. We are thankful to people for their support of our call”.
“We have been exposing India’s ceasefire drama since the beginning, which in reality is an effort by Indian forces to achieve covert targets. Had India been reasonable and honest regarding the ceasefire, it would have implemented Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) and stopped the atrocities and released the Hurriyat leaders and honorable women who have been arrested or detained. But Indian forces opted to mercilessly kill innocents under the disguise of the ceasefire,” the spokesperson said, adding that the violence was being imposed on pro-freedom individuals and the family members of” freedom fighters” were continuously facing harassment.
Lashkar chief, according to Ghaznavi, said after the release of UN’s report on Kashmir, Shujaat Bukhari, a renowned journalist, was “martyred”. “All such (happenings) make it clear that the occupational forces were never honest in their negotiations. They themselves imposed the ceasefire and ended it, as per their wish,” he said.
“Such are the facts we have been putting forth before the public. By Allah (SWT), we have been successful in our efforts that the whole nation boycotted India’s ceasefire drama. We are thankful to people for their complete trust and belief in their sons. This is the war of our freedom. The enemy has in past resorted to such vicious tactics and will continue to do so but it is people who will render every ill-fated vicious plan of India into failure,” Mehmood Shah added. (GNS)
