Srinagar: Greeting people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr S P Vaid appealed to parents whose sons have joined militancy to recall them and celebrate the festival together.
This is an occasion for parents to think and recall their son who have strayed away and taken a wrong path of violence, Dr Vaid said in a message on the eve of Eid.
I appeal to you (parents) to ask your sons to shun the path of violence and return home and celebrate the festival together, he said.
The youths who have chosen this wrong path should also think that the path of violence will not help to achieve anything, Dr Vaid said in the message adding the youth can start afresh and lead a normal life.
DGP also in a tweet said “ DGP @spvaid greets people martyrs families Police and SF personnel on auspicious ocassion of Eid ul Fitr.Appeals parents to call home the youth who have choosen path of violence on this festive occasion.
