Srinagar: A youth was killed while two others, including a woman, were injured when army allegedly opened fire to disperse demonstrators protesting in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
Official sources said that hundreds of people, including women, hit the streets at Nowpora Lassipora in Pulwama after security forces allegedly tried to vandalise the house of a local militant Saju Ram on Friday.
Security forces resorted to lathicharge which had no impact of demonstrators. Later security forces opened fire to disperse them in which three persons were injured. The injured were rushed to hospital where one of them identified as Vikas Ahmad Rather succumbed. The injured woman has been identified as Rukiya Jan.
