Srinagar/June, 14: Minister for education Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali on Thursday appealed Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers to defer their protest keeping in view the forthcoming Eid Ul Fitr and give him some time to resolve their pressing demands.
The minister took to micro blogging website Twitter to appeal the teachers as he wrote
“I appeal u all SSA teachers that while I will be working on this Eid to figure out a way out for ur problems, you please let yourselves & ur families enjoy Eid by deferring ur protest 4 smtime. ”
The minister said all SSA teachers need to be reasonable and give him some time to do something about their demands.
“You all have to b reasonable & give me some time to do something,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
The SSA teachers have decided to stage a sit-in at Pratap Park Srinagar on Eid day to register their protest against the government. The SSA teachers are demanding release of their salary as per the 7th pay Commission and de-linking of their salary from MHRD budget.
