Srinagar: Government forces detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Tuesday, official sources said.
They said a security force patrol party detected an IED planted by militants in the link road at Kanjinag, Awantipora, in Pulwama this morning. However, the road was closed and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) summoned, they said adding the IED was defused without causing any damage.
Had it not been detected and defused it would have caused major damage to life and property as the road remained busy during the day.
