Srinagar: Taking a jibe at BJP president Amit Shah, former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah said ‘India has seen unprecedented, development in the history of humankind and everything you see around you, including the Taj Mahal, was built in the last 4 years’.
“India has seen the most remarkable, in fact totally unprecedented, development in the history of humankind. Everything you see around you (including the Taj Mahal?) was built in the last 4 years,” Mr Abdullah, who is the vice president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Mr Abdullah was sarcastically responding to Mr Shah attacking Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his party’s “dismal” track record in 55 years of its rule.
Mr Shah, while addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh, questioned Mr Gandhi for seeking an account of the work done by the BJP-led government at the Centre in the last four years.
“Mr Gandhi asks PM Modi what did he do in the last four years. I would like to tell him we aren’t answerable to you. People gave us right to be in power. Your family governed the country for four generations and 55 years. Why has there been no development?” Mr Shah said while addressing the rally.
