Srinagar: Government forces and militants on late evening Saturday exchanged a brief gunfire in the forest area in the north Kahsmirs’s Bandiora district.
A police official said that only gun shots were heard on the 14 RR patrolling party after which government forces cordoned off whole Panar village in the district and launched searches after inputs about presence of suspected militants, he said.
Meanwhile reports said that army’s 14 RR cordoned off Raynar forest area Saturday evening following the suspicious movement and launched searches . The militants hiding in the area, reports said, opened fire upon them triggering off a brief exchange of gunfire.
After the gunshots were heard in the area additional forces were rushed to the area.
