DC Bandipora reviews arrangements for Shab-e-Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr

Bandipore: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanaie Saturday urged upon the concerned officers to provide every possible facility to the people during the auspicious Shab-i-Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The DC was reviewing the arrangements put in place by the district administration for the purpose. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that all the basic arrangements including security, sanitation, water and Power supply besides health and other facilities have been ensured across the district particularly at Ziarat Ahme Sharief and other grand mosques and religious places where huge congregation is expected. The meeting was informed that Animal Husbandry Department will provide chicken Rs 5 discount at 5 nominated sale centres at Bandipora, Aaloosa, Hajin, Sumbal and Naidkhai.

Reviewing the essential commodities, the DC was informed that sufficient stock of rice, atta, K-oil, sugar and LPG is available in the district including border Gurez and Tulail tehsils. It was given out that the additional quota of sugar has also been distributed among all the ration card holders as per CM’s directions.

Regarding market checking the meeting was told that the checking squads comprising of FCS & CA, Municipal Committee, Revenue, Legal Metrology, Police and Food Safety are regularly doing inspection of markets during which they realise fine from erring traders.

The DC on the occasion stressed for intensifying market checking to curb the menace of black marketing and hoarding. Regarding regulation of traffic, the ARTO was directed to strictly adopt one way traffic in the town and Ahme Sharief area. The DC directed him to strictly prohibit truck drivers not to park their trucks on the general road at Nusoo, and instead shift their trucks to new bus stand Bandipora to avoid traffic conjunction.

Among others Assistant Commissioner Revenue Hameeda Akhter, representative from Ziarat Ahme Sharief besides Officers were also present on the occasion.
