Tariq Zargar takes charge as New Dir Info

Srinagar: The newly appointed Director Information Tariq Ahmad Zargar here on Wednesday took charge from his predecessor Munir-ul-Islam at the Directorate of Information.
After taking charge as Director Information, Tariq Ahmad Zargar told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that transparency in the working of Information Department and harmonious relationship with media in Jammu and Kashmir would be his priority.
In reply to a question, he said “I have just joined and need some time to go into the working of department. I will try to understand the issues deserving immediate attention their resolution in the larger public interest. I appeal all media men to contribute immensely for healthy working relationship between the media houses and the government.”
Tariq Zargar, a post graduate of Aligarh Muslim University is a qualifier of the combined services examination. He has served in different key departments and prior to his posting as Director Information he was Deputy Commissioner Poonch. He hails from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
