Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Government has yet again booked Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and Farooq Tawheedi under draconian Public Safety Act and has shifted them to outside Kashmir jail.
Separatist leader Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori is affiliated with People’s League while Tawheedi is associated with Muslim Political League.
Both these leaders had been arrested February last year and were booked under PSA, subsequently shifted to Kathua Jail.
“The High Court quashed their PSA a couple of months ago, however, authorities instead of releasing them, lodged the duo at Sopore Police Station,” said a People’s League leader.
He said that on Tuesday night both were shifted to Kathua jail after authorities slapped another PSA on them. “Sopori has been booked under PSA for 4th consecutive time while it is the second PSA for Farooq Tawheedi,” he said.
A police official said that the duo is a threat to peace who are responsible for instigating people against the State.
