Kulgam: In a bid to snatch the service rifle of a trooper, a couple of youth attacked him with an axe, however, the alert trooper foiled their attempt.
The incident occurred a District Development Commissioners office in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Reports said that a Para-military trooper posted at Mini-Secretariat Kulgam was attacked by youth, two in number with an axe. The trooper despite sustaining injuries resisted and foiled their attempt to snatch the rifle.
A police official said that assailants managed to escape from the spot while the trooper was admitted in the hospital for treatment.
