Srinagar: Minister for Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Mohammad Ashraf Mir Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers to discuss measures for further streamlining of Kerosene supply and its rationalized distribution in the State.
The Minister stressed upon ensuring that the allocated quantities of kerosene reach the eligible beneficiaries in time. He stressed upon the officers to keep check on possible pilferage, black-marketing and regulation of the supply.
Underscoring the need for making the distribution system of kerosene Oil more effective, efficient and prompt Mir stressed on maintaining complete transparency in distribution keeping in view the benefit to larger populace.
While reviewing the district wise status of Kerosene allocation, Mir stressed on allocating kerosene to different areas on the actual consumption to check black-marketing. He stressed upon the concerned officers to take necessary measures to rationalize the allocation and distribution.
In order to cater the need for more Kerosene retail outlets in rural areas, Mir said the department will allow new retail licenses in the remote areas which will benefit the people at large. He asked the concerned officers to survey various remote areas and make a list of the areas where the more kerosene retail outlets can be setup.
On the occasion, Mir also directed the officials to verify all the documents of the Kerosene Distributors and stockists and ensure that all stockists should fulfill criteria for license and other nor He said those distributors and stockists who do not fulfill the criteria, their licenses will be withdrawn.
The meeting was attended by Director FCS&CA Kashmir, Director FCS&CA Jammu, CAO FCS & CA, Joint Director Planning, Deputy Director Supplies Kashmir, Deputy Director Supplies Jammu and Financial Advisor FCS&CA.
