Srinagar: Minister for Revenue Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and Minister for Finance Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Tuesday jointly held a meeting with a delegation of Patwari Association here Tuesday.

Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Principal Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and other senior officers were present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the Patwari Association presented a charter of demands to the Ministers to which both the Ministers said all of their genuine demands and concerns would be looked into.

The demands of the Association include grade pay of Patwaris, timely departmental promotion, creation of PatwarHalqas, direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, enhancement of allowances for Patwaries and rent for Patwar Khanna.

On the occasion, Hanjura said the demands put forth by the Association would be looked into and asked them to resume their duties so that people do not face any inconvenience.

He also told the Patwari Association that their demands would be taken up with the concerned departments for an earlier redressal.

Bukhari, on the occasion, said state government has already fulfilled most of the demands of the government employees by implementing the 7th pay commission and all possible steps will be taken to redress their genuine concerns.

He said state government has adopted an employee friendly attitude and the employees should also work with utmost dedication and zeal for the welfare of common people.
