Shopian: Locals from Turkwangam village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district Monday alleged that Army soldiers went on rampage after the IED blast.
Three army men were injured after suspected militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the outskirts of the village on Monday morning.
The Casper vehicle of army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles was badly damaged in the blast when it was passing through the area.
Three soldiers were injured in the blast. Soon after the blast, additional forces were rushed to the area. However, youth took to streets and clashed with them.
Locals alleged that Government Forces barged into the residential houses and ransacked them. One of the houses ransacked belonged to Hizbul Mujhadeen Commander Zeenat-ul-Islam. The locals staged a protest against the Forces action. They also accused Indian Army of cutting apple trees on massive scale.
Army vehemently refuted the allegations saying such reports are baseless.
