Lok Adalat settles 317 cases at Jammu

Jammu: A Lok Adalat held Saturday here in the District Court Complex, Janipur Jammu, settled 317 cases of different nature.

As per a handout, the Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of   Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu.

Around 483 cases of Civil nature, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Petty Offences, Bank Recover Cases, MACT Cases, Municipality Cases, Matrimonial Cases, Cases under 138 NIA Act, Revenue, Electricity and Passenger Tax cases were taken up of which 317 cases were decided, while A total of Rs 18449244  was settled, it stated further.

The cases were heard by eight benches with first bench presided over by VC. Koul, Pr. District & Sessions Judge Jammu and assisted by Jatinder Singh Jamwal, presiding officer MACT Jammu, second bench headed by ML Manhas, Special Judge Anticorruption CBI Cases, Jammu and assisted by Yahya Firdous Ahangar, Special Mobile Magistrate, Jammu,  third bench by  Bala Jyoti, Additional District Judge, Bank Cases, Jammu and assisted by   Surinder Singh, City Judge Jammu,  fourth bench led by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu and  assisted by Meyank Gupta, 3rd Additional Munsiff, Jammu,  fifth bench was headed by Kusum Lata Pandita, Sub-Judge, Jammu and assisted by  Swati Gupta, Sub-Registrar Jammu.

The sixth bench was headed by Sudhir Khajuria, Special Electricity Mobile Magistrate, Jammu and assisted by   Manjeet Rai, Special Mobile Magistrate P&T Jammu, the seventh bench was presided over by Manoj Parihar, Special Municipal Magistrate and eighth bench was headed by Amit Sharma, Special Mobile Magistrate Traffic, Jammu and Slahuddin Ahmed, Additional Mobile Magistrate, Traffic Jammu.
