Srinagar: In response to a complaint of underweight packages of edible oil available in Srinagar markets, a team of Legal Metrology officers headed by Dy. Controller (Enforcement) Friday conducted a surprise inspection of wholesale dealer at Batamaloo, Moominabad and Hyderpora markets here.
The inspection found the oil packages marketed under Kamal brand to be underweight with variations ranging from 100g to 200g.
The department seized the brand stocks worth one lac rupees and registered a case against the manufacturer serving it a notice through its dealer in Srinagar.
