Pulwama: Police here in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district foiled a bid from militants to decamp with weapons from a minority post on Monday.
Sources said that a group of militants emerged in Saidapora village of Pulwama district and fired upon cops guarding a minority posts. The cops retaliated effectively while after a brief exchange of fire, militants fled from the area.
There are few security posts that have been set up in the village which has a large chunk of Sikh population.
A police official while confirming the incident said that militants motive was apparently to snatch service rifles, however, the alert cops foiled their attempt.
