Islamabad/May, 18: Pakistan on Friday said that three children are among four people killed in Indian shelling in its border areas.
Quoting from an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, Dawn News said that “unprovoked ceasefire violations across the Working Boundary (WB) by India on Friday killed four people.”
According to the army’s media wing, the Punjab Rangers are “responding to Indian fire and targeting Indian posts which initiated fire in the Sialkot sector as intermittent fire continues.”
Quoting Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the report said that the violations took place in Pukhlian, Cahprar, Harpal, Charwah and Shakargarh sectors and identified the deceased as a woman, Kalsoom, and her three children — Mehwish, Safia and Hamza.
Earlier, India also said that four civilians and a BSF man were killed, while a dozen people were injured after Pakistan violated ceasefire in Jammu region along the International Border (IB).
