Pulwama/May, 16: Government forces Wednesday morning launched a search operation after militants fired upon an army patrolling party in Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
Reports said that the militants fired upon a patrolling party of the army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles in Shikargah forest area of Tral before escaping from there.
Soon after the firing incident, the area was cordoned off by the forces. “A search operation is on to nab the attackers,” said an official.
“Some exchange of fire between SFs and militants in the forests of Tral. Search begins. Information is preliminary in nature,” police said on Twitter.
