Srinagar/May, 12: Normal life in Shopian district resumed on Saturday after six successive days of spontaneous shutdown against the civilian and militant killings but shutdown for the seventh consecutive day hit normal life in the neighbouring Pulwama district.
Reports said that shops and other business establishments opened in Shopian town and elsewhere. Public transport also plied.
However, shutdown continued in Pulwama district where a gunfight broke out earlier today in Chinar Bagh Takay Mohalla in Barpora village.
A CRPF trooper was killed in the gunfight while militants, believed to be three in number, managed to escape.
