Srinagar/May,11: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq was on Friday placed under house arrest . He was planing to address at the historic Jamia Masjid as usual.
Reports said that a police party reached at his Nigeen residence and put him under detention. An official said that the leaders has been put under house arrest to prevent him from leading protests after the prayers. Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has called for peaceful protests after prayers against the recent civilian killings.
