DDC Pulwama reviews progress under Capex Budget 2017-18

Pulwama: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Friday chaired a meeting to review the status of ongoing developmental projects of various departments in the district.

The meeting involved a threadbare review of the implementation of CM’s commitments, utilization of funds for various Central and State sector schemes and other developmental projects being implemented in the district.

The meeting was informed that under the CAPEX budget for 2017-18 fiscal involving Rs. 7920.62 crore about 97.18 percent of the expenditure has been. With regard to the Roads and Buildings sector, it was informed that developmental works worth Rs. 1325 lac were carried out under NABARD and those worth Rs. 240 lac under regular schemes of the available Rs 1565.00 crore. Whereas the education sector has seen an expenditure of Rs 1132.47 lac against the availability of 1200.59 lac under different sectors in the district. It was informed that under the Health sector, an amount of Rs. 377.90 lac has so far been utilized out of the total availability of Rs 380.45 lac.

While stressing the need for timely completion of developmental works, the DDC directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of works to meet the fixed deadlines. He also directed the concerned departments to start preparations for framing the new developmental plan for 2018-19 fiscal, instructing them to consult the concerned MLAs during the process.

He also stressed on the thorough implementation of decisions taken during the last district development board meeting and directed the concerned to ensure all works and decisions made during CM’s public durbar in Pulwama and Shopian are completed within their stipulated timeframes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, CEO MC, EEs PWD R&B, PHE and PMGSY, AD FCS &CA besides other district and sectoral officers from various departments.
