Srinagar: Secretary Information Sarmad Hafeez Wednesday visited Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) and took stock of various works.

The Secretary visited different sections of the department wherein he was given a detailed presentation of the working of the department and its future endeavours. He inspected the ongoing work on Library-cum-Reading Room with Reference facility at the Media Complex, Srinagar. He directed the officials to complete the works at the earliest for the greater benefit of scholars, students and the general public. He said funds won’t be a constraint in further augmenting the facilities at the office complex.

The Secretary also visited the auditorium wherein he was apprised of the FTII course underway at the department. He was informed that FTII Pune and DIPR-JK have already organized a month-long course in Digital Filmmaking at Srinagar while a course on Film Appreciation will be organized at Jammu from tomorrow. The other courses to be organized at Srinagar, Jammu and Leh as a part of this collaboration include Digital Cinematography, Digital Film Production, Acting, Video Editing and Writing for TV Fiction.

The Secretary also interacted with the employees at the department and patiently listened to their suggestions for further improving the working of the department.
