Srinagar: The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has, as a candidate-friendly measure, announced certain relaxations in the Counselling procedure for MD/MS/PG Diploma candidates for various medical strea
According to a statement issued by Chairman BOPEE, Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari, the time for submission of resignation has been extended upto 10-05-2018 2.00 p.m.
“The conversion of category seats into Open Merit has been extended upto 3.00 p.m. on 10-05-2018 and unfilled category seats shall be filled from categories on 10-05-2018 (2.00 pm to 4.00 pm),” the statement said adding that the mopping up round will be held on 11-05-2018.
It said all the willing and eligible candidates can participate in the process at their own risk and responsibility and the Board shall not be responsible under any circumstances if the candidate allotted the seat during mopping up round is not able to join the college within the stipulated cut off time of 12.05.2018 and such candidates will fall under SRO-48 of 2018.
It said the Board while considering the prevailing situation and the delay in admission process due to litigations, filed an application before the Supreme Court for grant of extension in time in completion of process, but the Supreme Court has not granted any relief so far.
It said the BOPEE completed the first online counselling of MD/MS/PG Diploma candidates on 01-05-2018, when it notified a list of 459 candidates. “The Board, due to extraordinary situations prevailing in the Valley, conducted second upgradation/allotment round on 07-05-2018 against the shortfall reported by the Colleges, through physical round of counselling instead of online counselling as a candidate friendly measure and to ensure that the vacant seats do not get waste, as no admission can be granted after 12-05-2018 as per MCI schedule, which has the seal and stamp of Supreme Court of India,” the statement said adding that during the upgradation round against 52 odd seats almost every candidate approached the Board and the BOPEE while working round the clock ensured that the process is completed. Accordingly, 110 candidates were allotted seats/upgraded.
It said on the basis of the shortfall received from the colleges, the Board conducted one more round of counselling on 09-05-2018. “However, almost all the candidates, irrespective of their rank/age approached the Board and raised certain demands and some candidates tried to create confusion and derail the whole process,” it said.
