Srinagar: Independent legislator Er Rasheed on Monday said that the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba should resign as killings are continuing “unabated” in the valley.
“Mehbooba Mufti has no right to be in office. She must resign. That is all what we want,” he said, during a protest against yesterday’s Shopian civilian killings near the civil secretariat as offices opened Monday as part of traditional ‘darbar move’ in Srinagar.
Hitting out at Union government for its “failure” to end Kashmir imbroglio, Rasheed said it has lost “moral right” to call “Kashmir its crown”.
“India is carrying out massacre of Kashmiris. We want to tell India that you have lost that moral right, when you used to say Kashmir is our crown, people of Kashmir are our own. India has lost the moral right to call Kashmir its integral part, and call Kashmiris its own people, and also to call Kashmir its crown,” said Rasheed.
