Srinagar: Police Tuesday said that stone-throwers responsible for the killing of a non-local Chennai youth have been identified and efforts are on to trace him.
A 22-year-old tourist, R Thirumani, from Chennai was critically injured in a stone-pelting incident at Narbal area on Monday evening. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to injuries.
Station House Officer Police Station Magam when contacted said that three youth have been detained for questioning. “These youth as per investigation are not culprits and have been detained for questioning only. Real culprits have been identified and investigation completed,” he said.
He added that stone-throwers responsible for the killing are absconding. “We have constituted a special team and hopefully they will be nabbed,” he said.
