Poonch: District Development Commissioner Poonch  Mohammad Aijaz Asad Tuesday chaired a meeting to review progress on laying of 132 KV transmission line from Draba to Chandak.

The estimated cost of the Project is Rs 29 crore involving construction of more than 100 Transmission Towers. The Project is being executed by PGCIL.

The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Project Wing, Xen Systems and Operations, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer EM &RE Poonch, Chief Project Manager PGCIL Jammu, Executive Engineer System and operations Jammu, Executive Engineer Project wing PDD Jammu  along  with contractor R-APDRP and other officers.

After threadbare discussion, it was informed in the meeting that 132 KV project is targeted to be completed within 16 months. “The ongoing survey shall be completed by mid-June, while the actual execution shall start from July 2018” the meeting was told.

The DC issued directions to the concerned agency for bye passing the residential areas from HT transmission lines to avoid any displacement of the populace. He reiterated that project execution work must meet the set deadline.

Deputy Manger IRCON also apprised the meeting about status of R-APDRP works in Poonch Town.

The DDC stressed on the installation of six transformers and 2.5km Aerial Bunch cable (ABC) in the city as per DPR and  said no item/quantity shall be allowed to be shifted to outside District within same cluster.

While underlining the importance of 132 KV Transmission Line, the DC said the project after completion shall establish a robust power supply mechanism in Poonch District. He told the state authorities to take periodical review of the pace of progress on the project to ensure its early completion.
