Samba: The Agriculture Department and SKUAST J Tuesday organised an awareness camp at Samba in which DC Samba S Rajinder Singh Tara was chief guest.
The DDC appreciated the department for organizing such camps and exhorted upon field functionaries of the department and scientists to reach out to the remotest corners of the District to create awareness among farmers for effective implementation of Govt. Schemes meant for their welfare.
The DDC directed to organise more such workshops to bridge the gap between lab and land, upgrade new technological advances for maximum outreach to the farmers through Agriculture extension.
Chief Agriculture Officer N Mishra and District Agriculture Officer Vijay Upset presented a brief resume of agriculture activities in Samba District especially successful implementation of Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. They stressed on the need to activate dormant KCC card holders in the District.
Scientists from S KUAST J /KVK also spoke on the occasion and informed the farmers about the latest cultivation techniques for increasing their produce.
