MMS Memorial Football Tournament: J&K Bank thrashes Lonestar KFC by 7-2 goals.

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir Bank Team thrashed Lonestar KFC(LKFC) by Seven goals to 2 in a match of the ongoing third phase of the first Mufti Mohammad Sayeed (MMS) Memorial Football Tournament played at Synthetic Turf Football Stadium in Srinagar on Friday (May 5th).

In a one sided encounter, the Bank players dominated the match from start till end and LKFC players were no match to their quality play. The Bank team gave no chance of recovery to the opposite team. Danish opened the account for the winning team in 7th minute of the play while Pream doubled the lead in 13th minute & Aakif scored third goal in 39th Mint . The first half ended with Bank team leading 3-0

In the second half, the Bank forwards continued to attack the goalpost of LKFC and kept their defence lines under pressure. In 53rd minute of the play, Adnan made it 4-0 in favour of the Bank and just five minutes later Shahid scored back to back two goals in 56th & 60th minut and team’s fifth & sixth goal. In 70th minute of the play, Uneeb scored 7th goal for J&K Bank Team and sealed the fate of the match. The LKFC players scored two goals in last minut s of the game through Aqib & Arun in 80th minut & 85th minut. Respectively. Faisal Thakur was declared as player of the match for his brilliant play. He was awarded cash prize of Rs 1000 and a memento.

The event, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF), The aim of the tournament is to unearth the hidden talent in all corners of the state including remote areas.
