Jammu/May, 2: Police Wednesday arrested three persons for “fatally stabbing” a youth in Dher village of Billawar area in Kathua district. He succumbed to his injuries at GMC& hospital Jammu later.
Reports said that Liyakat Ali (22), son of Munir Hussain of Ther, was stabbed by a sharp-edged weapon late evening in his native village.
He was rushed to GMC&H Jammu where he scummbed at around 11:40 pm.
In a statement, a police spokesman said that three accused have been arrested after “strenuous efforts” within hours of the incident.
He said a case FIR no 49/18 u/s 307 RPC was registered following a complaint by the sister of the deceased Nishant Kouser w/o Imran Hussein at Police Station Billawar.
In her complaint, she said that her brother Liyaqat Ali S/o Munir Hussein R/o Ther (Billawar) has been stabbed with sharp edged weapon at village Dher by Abhishek Sharma S/O Ramakant R/o Nowshera Mahanpur and Honey Khajuria S/O Ram Parkash R/O Dher Billawar.
She said that the accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.
“Instantly Case FIR No 49/18 u/s 307 RPC was registered and investigation started. Inspector Amit Sangra SHO Police Station Billawar immediately constituted special teams to raid at different locations to nab the culprits,” said the spokesman.
“After strenuous efforts, three accused persons have been arrested within hours of the incident along with car.”
