Jammu: A National Exhibition of Paintings dedicated to Late Suraj Saraf, a veteran Journalist of J&K state, and organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu at Kala Kendra, Jammu on 27th April, 2018 was closed today with a valedictory ceremony. Dr. Nirmal Vinod, a well known writer and radio presenter was the Chief Guest and Pt. Kewal K Sharma was the guest of Honour on this occasion.
The works of senior and young artists of the state and 11 other states of the country were displayed in the exhibition. The art work of these artists was associated with different styles and themes in various mediums and techniques. Dh. O P Shsarmsa, Director JKCCA welcomed the guests on this occasion. He gave a brief of the exhibition at Kala Kendra, Jammu. He said that the centre has been successfully proceeding forward in its twenty years journey.
In his address Dr. Nirmal Vinod said that by remembering Sh. Suraj saraf by JKCCA is a major gesture towards acknowledging his services in writing on and documenting art, culture, heritage and the artists. He appreciated the talent of the state’s artists whose work was displayed in the show. Pt. Kewal K Sharma, president JKCCA also expressed his views.Earlier the guests had a round of the exhibition. Certificates were given away by the chief guest to the participating artists.
