Srinagar: A massive Cordon and Search Operation was launched in old town Baramulla here in North Kashmir.
An official said that a cordon-and-search-operation was launched in the area to nab the assailants who killed three civilians in Khanpora area last night.
Three civilians – Asif Ahmad Sheikh, Haseeb Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Asghar – all residents of Kakarhamam – were killed by gunmen in Khanpora last night. One of the slain was recently released by Court from Kotbhalwal Jail where he had been lodged under draconian Public Safety Act on charges of stone-pelting.
Report said that combined forces including Army, SOG and CRPF conducted door-to-door searches. The identity cards of suspects were thoroughly checked, however, no arrests were made.
