Tral: After the Laam Forest gunfight a youth from Tral town of Pulwama district has reportedly joined militant ranks.
A photograph of Tral youth carrying assault rifles has gone viral on social media. The youth has been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Thokar son of Late Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Ponzu Tral.
Local sources said that Fayaz is a mechanic by profession while one of his brothers is an Engineer and another is a post graduate student.
Sources added that Fayaz Ahmed was last seen in the funeral procession of a local militant at Handru Tral who along with his three other associates was killed in Laam Forest encounter.
A policeman and a solider were also killed in that gunfight.
“We are ascertaining the facts and investigation has been set into motion,” said a police official.
