Srinagar/April, 28:A spontaneous shutdown for second consecutive day on Saturday is being observed in Shopian district of south Kashmir to mourn the killing of a student during a shootout in Anantnag last Thursday.
All shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads. No militant or separatist outfit has called for the shutdown.
Police said 21-year-old Shakeeb Shabir was killed when militants travelling in a car opened fire on the forces. “The fire missed the target and hit Shakeeb who was also travelling in a taxi,” said a police official.
