Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Muslim League has vehemently condemned the nocturnal raids and arrests of youth in Kelam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Muslim League spokesperson Sajad Ayoubi said that over 8 youth were arrested during nocturnal raids in Kelgam village of Kulgam and have been locked up at police station Devsar.
He identified the arrested youth as Arif Badar, Nawaz Ahmed Wani, Nawaz Ahmed Hajam, Muhammad Amin Parray, Irshad Hussain Lone, Idrees Paddar, Manzoor Ahmed Hajam and Zubair Ahmed Bhat.
“The relatives and family members were not allowed to meet these detained youth, even they were harassed at police station. Such a policy adopted by India makes it clear that it is ruling Kashmir on military might,” he said.
Sajad Ayoubi demanded immediate release of these youth and asked Government of India to stop harassing and arresting people. “Such arrests will have serious repercussions,” he said.
