Srinagar: Claiming that the Supreme Court Stay in Kathua gang rape and murder trial was granted on the victim’s father’s plea, their lawyer Advocate Deepika Rajawat has said that being the Victim’s lawyer she was happy to get the stay as they did not want the trial to be continued in the trial Court.
Speaking to KNS over phone from New Delhi, Advocate Rajawat clarified that since her plea on behalf of Victim’s father was to transfer the case therefore till the next hearing any kind of developments in the trial court would have serious impact on the case therefore staying the proceedings till next hearing on May 7th, was a welcome decision by the Apex Court. Advocate Rajawat also endorsed the Advocate General Of J&K’s statement that Crime Branch was free to file the supplementary Charge sheet. (KNS)
