Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid rich tributes to four armed youth – Abid Ahmed, Ishfaq Ahmed, Javaid Ahmed and Mufti Yasir martyred in Lam, Tral in an encounter with the government forces stating that sacrifices offered for a great and sacred cause can never be forgotten and that it was the collective responsibility of the leadership and people of Kashmir to safeguard the mission of martyrs.
The Hurriyat said that because of the iron-first policy of New Delhi and pushing youth towards the wall, the young generation sees armed means of resistance only option available with them to fight.
The Hurriyat said that delaying the resolution of Kashmir issue will cast a shadow on the peace for which the people of not just the sub-continent, but entire south Asia are yearning since past many decades. Peace would remain a challenge as long as Kashmir dispute would continue to linger on. The Hurriyat said it was high time that New Delhi must shun its stubborn approach and acknowledge the ground realities to start a meaningful exercise for the resolution of the dispute as per the wishes of its real stakeholders.
The Hurriyat condemned in strongest words, the use of forces including firing of tear gas shells and Pava shells inside the Islamic University campus where students were holding a peaceful demonstration. It said that the government has been deliberately deploying heavy contingent of forces including police and paramilitary forces around the educational institutions including universities to instill fear among the student community. The Hurriyat strongly denounced the use of force on the students at IUST. The Hurriyat also castigated the government for unleashing terror in Pulwama villages and arresting and harassing the youth there during nocturnal raids.
Meanwhile, APHC spokesman paid glowing tributes to the founder of JKLF Amanullah Khan on his death anniversary stating that Khan spent his entire life for the Kashmir cause and his contribution towards the movement was extraordinary.
The spokesman said Khan played an important role in building a consensus over Kashmir in international countries over Kashmir issue and to seek the support of international forums for resolution the vexed dispute.
