Kangan: In a surprising move, Jammu and Kashmir Government Wednesday ordered that the transfer of ADC Ganderbal Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari and shifted him to Srinagar as project officer ICDS.
Bukhari was appointed as inquiry officer to probe the killing of Gowher Ahmed Rather of Kangan who was allegedly killed earlier this month near Jamia Masjid Kangan by a cop namely Gulzar Ahmed.
The relatives of slain youth Gowher Ahmed and locals expressed resentment and said they have lost all hopes to get justice.
“This officer was doing an excellent job and so far had probed the matter nicely. We feel that it is a deliberate move to hush up the case,” said a member of the local Auqaf Committee.
