Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a person alongwith arms and ammunition, including one pistol and an AK 47 rifle, in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
A police spokesperson on Sunday said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established at Mir Bazaar in Kulgam on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Saturday.
He said police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint and during checkpoint recovered one 9 mm pistol with one magazine and one AK 47 with two magazines.
“The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody. Police has started investigation into the matter,” he added.
