Zulfkar inspects progress on upcoming FCS&CA Complex at Jammu

Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs (FCS&CA) & Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Wednesday visited Warehouse, Bikram Chowk to inspect progress of ongoing construction work on Food Civil Supplies &Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) building.

The project is being executed by J&K Housing Board at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore.

The Minister was accompanied by Director FCS&CA, Jammu, R.A Inqalabi, Deputy General Manager J&K Housing Board Rajesh Abrol, engineers of executing agency besides senior officers of concerned department.

During the visit, the Minister took round of various blocks of the building and inspected the ongoing construction works. He was informed that the construction work of Block ‘A’ would be completed soon and work of slab of 2nd floor, Block ‘B” is in full swing and would be completed at the end of this month.

Zulfkar directed the executing agency to accelerate the pace of   work so that the prestigious project is completed well in time.  He said that with its completion, Directorate Office would be outfitted with all modern infrastructural facilities. He said that the government is paying focused attention on infrastructure up-gradation in cohesion with infusion of new technology to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the Department.

“Our focus is on expediting development works, ensuring good governance and providing a corruption-free administration,” he further said.

While reviewing the status of existing food stores at Ware House, Zulfkar directed the officers to prepare a DPR for the renovation/ repair of the same. He also directed for dismantling the sheds which are in dilapidated condition.

Zulfkar Ali asked the concerned to take measures for restoration of a Vintage car of the department parked at the Warehouse for showcasing it to the public visiting the area.
