Srinagar: The work in government offices across State was partially disrupted for the second consecutive day due to pen down strike of clerical staff who protests against pay disparity.
The call for pen down strike has been forwarded by Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKLADCSA).
The protesting clerics have been accusing government of backtracking for her promises. They say that former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu had promised them their demand will be fulfilled, however, till date nothing has been done in this regard.
“Instead of implementation of recommendations made by previous Committee, the state government constituted one more Pay Anomaly Committee to review the said recommendations within time bound period but even after lapse of 2 years the said committee has not submitted its report to the government yet. We will continue to protest, till our disparity in pay is not removed,” the protesting clerks said.
