Doda: District level inter zonal football tournament on the theme “Let Us play” under the centrally sponsored scheme was inaugurated Monday at sports stadium Doda.
The tournament was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Doda, Bhawani Rakwal in presence of DYSSO Doda Ashok Kumar Kotwal.
Around 580 boys and girls from different schools of the district are participating in the event. It is for the first time in the history of Doda that girl’s team is participating in the football game.
DDC Doda appreciated the efforts of the department in bringing girls to the tournament playing shoulder to shoulder with boys with great enthusiasm and sports spirit.
The tournament is being held under the chief patronage of Director General YSS, Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh. Various officials of the department of Youth Services and Sports were present on the occasion.
