Srinagar/April,13: Imposing restrictions in old parrs of Srinagar city tge law enforcing authorities disallowed congregational Friday prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in this summer capital of Jammu &Kashmir yet again.

Apprehending protests in wake of four civilian killings in Kulgam, the authorities imposed restrictions in Nowhatta and other adjacent areas. Forces were deployed in strength in the area to prevent any protests.

Joint Resistance Leadership – an amalgam of separatist outfits – has called for peaceful protests after the weekly congregational prayers today against Kulgam killings.

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who delivers sermon every Friday at the mosque, has been placed under house detention.

Taking to social networking website, Twitter, Mirwaiz wrote: “Curfew & restrictions imposed for second consecutive Friday in #ShehreKhas, barring Juma prayers at #JamaMasjid, huge deployment of armed forces, all gates of the historic Mosque locked down!We will not be allowed to pray at the mosque even on the auspicious occasion of #ShabeMiraj!”
