Srinagar: As the rains continued to lash plains since Sunday afternoon, the higher reaches of the Valley including the famous tourist destinations including Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg received a fresh snowfall Tuesday.
The higher reaches, including the world-famous ski resort, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg received a thin layer of fresh snowfall, an official in the Meteorological department said.
He informed that as per the prediction, the light to moderate rains would continue to occur at many places during the next 48 hours in the state.
The intermittent rains continued to lash Valley since Sunday afternoon.
Officials said that the wet spell across the Valley would continue till Apr 12 under the influence of a Western Disturbance (WD), which according to them is active in the region.
He informed that during the next 48 hours, besides intermittent rainfall, there would occasion sunshine as well.
The rains that continued since Sunday afternoon caused water logging at several places in Old City areas including Khanyar, Baba Demb and others, resulting in immense hardships to the pedestrians.
The locals appealed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps in this regard. (KNS)
