Initiatives underway to transform JK’s developmental landscape: Veeri

Rajouri: Minister for Revenue, Haj & Auqaf and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri Monday said the government has taken many initiatives for the development of all three regions of the state. He said focused attention is also being given to develop the hilly districts of Poonch and Rajouri and many developmental projects have been undertaken for the betterment of people.

The Minister said this while addressing the various deputations called on him during his first day visit to district Rajouri.

MLA Rajouri, Qamar Hussain Choudhary besides several prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.

After reaching the district headquarters, the Minister was accorded warm welcome by the people who also thanked him for visiting the district to listen their issues and demands.

Many people spoke on the occasion and thanked the government especially the Minister for bringing a new era of development in the state.

The people also raised their issues and concerns before the Minister including arrangement of field functionaries in Revenue units, issues concerning Haj & Auqaf department, employment opportunities for youth of the area, rationalization of Patwarhalqas and special package for Poonch & Rajouri as they are worst sufferer of cross border firing.

The Minister assured the people that government is serious towards the concerns of the people and efforts are being made to mitigate the problems of the people.

He said many developmental initiatives have been undertaken in the district under education, health and other sectors which will go a long way in transforming the lives of the people.

Veeri said as the district is a hilly district and people are living in far flung areas, the field functionaries have directed to conduct regular field visits to listens to their problems and their early resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rajouri thanked the Minister for his visit and listening to concerns of the people.

The MLA highlighted the achievements of the government made during the last three years and said with the committed approach, the government has come up with various people welfare schemes which have provided relief to them and uplifted their socio-economic profile.
