Srinagar: A day after Jammu and Kashmir deputy chief minister Dr. Nirmal Singh Minister accused the opposition of doing politics over its demand for holding of dialogue with separatists and Pakistan, the opposition on Sunday termed his statement as ‘Political Stunt and misleading.’
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammed Sagar told KNS that it is a political stunt and irresponsible too. “They are unnecessary diverting the issue.”
He added that the present government has time and again unnecessarily accusing the opposition. “The reality is that they are responsible for the uncertainty in the state.”
“Since the PDP-BJP came in power there is an increase in civilian killings. They are responsible for the present situation in the Valley,” he said.
He added that there is no other alternative to Kashmir issue than dialogue.
While reacting to the Singh’s statement, Senior CPI (M) leader and MLA from Kulgam, MY Tarigami told KNS that the deputy chief minister should first see his politics.
“Since the government came in the power, has the situation on ground improved or worsened,” Tarigami asked.
He added that the present regime is an opportunist. “BJP wants to win elections they have no concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He further adds if the dialogue is not the solution, why the prime minister went to Pakistan. “Was that a joke or an attempt to initiate dialogue,” asks Tarigami.
While talking to KNS, senior Congress leader, G N Monga said that PDP-BJP government had “failed” on all fronts. “They are known for such politics.”
The deputy chief minister on Saturday said that the Opposition wants the government to initiate dialogue with those ‘who are killing innocents or with those who are provoking youth for stone pelting through Hawala funding.’
The deputy chief minister accused the opposition of doing politics over its demand for holding of dialogue with separatists and Pakistan.
He also opposed a dialogue with separatists who “stay silent when innocent people are killed and give a call for a strike when terrorists are eliminated”. (KNS)
